Boost the mosquito-luring power of your Bite Shield Insect Traps with Octenol

Bite Shield insect traps use a combination of proven attractants, including UV light, CO2, heat, and optional Octenol lures. Octenol is an EPA-registered mosquito attractant that consists of 1-Octen-3-ol (alcohol based fragrance) combined with a wax blend to hold its consistency and is described as having a mild mushroom or Camembert cheese scent. Each Octenol lure lasts 30-60 days, depending on environmental conditions.

Important Safety Information

Octenol is safe for humans, pets and the environment when released into the air but can be harmful if ingested. Cartridges should be kept sealed and stored in a cool, dry place out of the reach of children until ready to use. Avoid contact between areas under foil wrapper and skin or eyes, and wash hands before eating, drinking, chewing gum, or using the washroom. Used cartridges can be wrapped in several layers of newspaper and disposed of in the trash.
