Packed with flavor and served on a bed of rice, this slow cooker beef and broccoli hits all the right sweet and savory notes
You Will Need
Slow cooker (at least 5 qt)
Small mixing bowl
Mixing spoon
Measuring cups and spoons
Ingredients
2 lbs sirloin steak or boneless chuck roast, thinly sliced
1 head of broccoli, cut into florets
1 cup beef broth
1/2 cup low sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar
1 tbsp sesame oil
4 cloves garlic, minced
4 tbsp cornstarch
4 tbsp water
Cooked white rice for serving
Instructions
- Whisk together beef broth, soy sauce, brown sugar, sesame oil, and garlic in the slow cooker insert. Add beef slices and toss to coat.
- Cover and cook for 4 hours on low heat.
- After 4 hours, whisk cornstarch and water in a small bowl. Add cornstarch mixture and broccoli florets to the slow cooker and gently stir to combine.
- Cover and cook 30 minutes on low until broccoli is tender and sauce is thickened. Serve on a bed of warm white rice.
